Bow Wow to be Arrested on Site Due to Tour Bus Snafu, Orders Georgia Judge PDF Print E-mail

Jay-Z isn’t the only rapper making headlines lately for allegedly not paying his bills; Bow Wow has been ordered by a judge in Georgia to be arrested and held in custody until he produces documents for the tour bus company that is suing him.

Back in 2009, a Tennessee court ordered Bow to pay almost $100,000 to a tour bus company that alleged he didn’t pay his bill. When that order wasn’t met, the company took the case to Georgia to try and get the matter settled where Bow Wow lives. He was ordered to produced documents regarding the lawsuit, which he didn’t do.

As a result, the tour company filed a motion to have the rapper held in contempt, and that’s exactly what’s happening now. In October, the judge asked Bow-Weezy to be arrested and held until he produces the necessary documents the tour bus company asked for.

XXLmag.com reached out to Bow Wow’s publicist for a statement, but emails have not been replied to as of press time. —Gina Montana AT XXIMAG

The Beats by Dre headphones have been getting a lot of attention lately form music lovers around the world for their sleek look, exceptionally high quality sound and noise cancelling capabilities. For a limited time “Daily Winner Alerts” is offering free beats headphones through their promotional sweepstakes.

To enter the drawing participants simply need to visit the participating beats by Dre website and provide their email address. No payment information is required to enter the drawing but participants must be at least 18 years of age.

The sweepstakes is in response to the unprecedented success the headphones have achieved since their initial release. The headphone’s signature is their crisp sound, which captures the subtleties usually lost with regular headphones. "People aren't hearing all the music,” says Dr. Dre. “Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can't really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can't handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn't move you. With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do."

The free beats headphones retail for $350 and the sweepstakes is expected to draw considerable attention before its quick closing. “Getting in early is key,” says Dan Jacobs of Corporate Marketing. “There is a small window there so if you can get in before it shuts you have a good chance of being selected. Spots are purposely limited to sweeten the pot.”

Madonna Served a Cease and Desist Letter PDF Print E-mail

This morning, a cease and desist letter was sent to Madonna, her management, NBC Sports and the NFL from Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis' attorney. In the letter, attorney David Houston asserts that Madonna is infringing on his client's long-time trademark, Girls Gone Wild, without his permission. While shopping on Apple iTunes this morning, Francis discovered that "Girls Gone Wild" is the title of the first song on Madonna's new album, "M.D.N.A." Francis was quoted as saying, "I was blown away when I saw our name being used without our consent. I had to do a double take when I saw that it was the number one song on the album."

It was rumored in a number of published news articles today that as part of Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show, she would be performing her song, "Girls Gone Wild." "Not so fast," says Francis. The cease and desist letter also stated, "Madonna shall not perform or market the song at the Super Bowl this Sunday without a proper licensing agreement from Girls Gone Wild." Francis ended with, "Don't get me wrong, I'm a Madonna fan, but business is business. Maybe the Material Girl and I can work this out over drinks."

According to Madonna’s publicist “The song will not be performed at Super Bowl halftime show, it was never a possibility. She has confirmed she will be performing her new single and three of her gems from the past."

Her new single is "Give Me All Your Luvin'," which was released yesterday on Itunes.

Kanye West Scouting Middle East Locations For New Film PDF Print E-mail
Written by Staff
Friday, 03 February 2012 11:23

According to sources in the United Arab Emirates, the rapper sent members of his team to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha, which is in Qatar, last week to look for potential filming and financing opportunities. Reportedly several local municipal officials and film companies are involved in a “heated bidding war” for work on the project. A source told the New York Observer, “In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled. A bidding war is going on between various government entities and private investors to fund the film. There’s pretty intense rivalry here between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. They all want to claim the film as their own and take credit for generating the publicity.”
.

“He conceived the story, which is set in the Gulf,” the source noted. “It’s supposed to showcase the beauty of the region, a piece that’s culturally sensitive and embraces the customs and traditions of the region.”

.

West has performed in the Middle East several times, including a recent gig with Jay-Z at a private party for one of the ruling sheikh’s family members. West apparently wants to offer an “authentic” depiction of the culture and may cast some of those royal family members, as “many of the Sheikhs like to be flashy and appreciate celebrity notoriety.”
.

West has not officially commented on the project yet, however West’s most recent tweet, from January 7, reads, “The world is our office.” That sounds like confirmation to us.
