Hip Hop Responds to Police Terrorism in Oakland (the Fruitvale Rally) by Davey D: Hip Hop came out in full force this past Wednesday to the Fruitvale BART station protest the police execution of Oscar Grant. From hosts Christina Gomez and Dereca Blackman of the Bay Area Local Organizing Committee to artists Jahi, Zion I, Deuce Eclipse, Trackademics, Dlabrie, Ras Ceylon, the Scrapper Bike Boyz and scores of others Hip Hop was in full effect at this big rally.

Oakland rap artists Ner City and Mister FAB rep for Oscar Grant. Pittsburgh, Pa rapper Jasiri X makes a rare trip to the Bay Area to show solidarity and make sure the word of this tragedy gets spread to other parts of the country.

Bay Area Hip Hop artists Sellessie, Tarik of Arab Summit and Mister FAB talk about the police shooting of Oscar Grant and the killings going on in the Gaza strip in Palestine. Sellessie and Tarik draw the parallels between the streets in Oakland and the streets in Palestine. Mister FAB asks why the local urban radio station are no where to be seen during this time of crises. He notes that these outlets come to every function except the one that deals with the very real threat that took away the life of one of its listeners. He puts the station and commercial artists on blast. ...
