The Better Detroit Youth Movement, True Infinity Solutions, and The City of Detroit presents the 1st Annual Detroit Stop The Violence Weekend Friday May 2nd, 2008. With the help and support of many and with legendary hip hop figures Grandmaster Jay, Kurtis Blow & The Pioneers of Hip hop and their special invited hip hop artists; May 2 is a day of proclamation and salvation of our city and our youth from the epidemic of violence destroying the city of Detroit.

1st Annual Detroit Stop The Violence Weekend has many Scheduled Events ranging from The Gospel of Hip Hop Speaks with Grandmaster Jay, Kurtis Blow, Hip hop Speaks and interviews thru out the city to the Hip hop Speaks Pioneers of Hip Hop Concert at the Fox Theater with hip hop and rap luminaries Whodini, KRS-1, Doug E Fresh, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Sugar Hill Gang, & Kurtis Blow

Detroit asks that you join them in a movement to empower, enlighten, uplift, motivate, encourage, inspire, educate, create, celebrate, and restore peace, belief, hope, unity, freedom and most of all LOVE to our youth and to the City of Detroit through the use of the most powerful medium on the planet next to God…Hip Hop.

Headlining and featured hip hop artists include The Legendary Grandmaster Jay, Kurtis Blow & The Pioneers of Hip hop; With special invited hip hop artists and guests Stretch Money, Trik Trik, Al Nuke, Big Herk, Black Milk, Invincible, Finale, Slum Village, Monica Blaire, Yoshi, Whippa Whip, Quest McCody, Njia Kai, Raphael Johnson, Nick Speed, Mz Korona, Majestik, NFL players Lional Dalton and Chris Floyd, Wil Louchi Kulayd, Julius Curry, K Swade, Hood Hard DJ's, Core D.J's.
