On Saturday June 11, 2005, at 12 p.m. hip-hop and rap history will be made and Tupac Shakurs legacy as an artist and actor will begin to  live on in a big way in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Tupac Shakur the great late rap icon, who was assassinated in 1996 in Las Vegas, will be immortalized with the completion of Phase One of "Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts."

The center has been a ‘mission’ that Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur and many others have been on since Tupac’s murder in 1996.

The Meditation Peace Garden and the Visitor Center are Phase One of the project and the Grand Opening will be on Saturday June 11th.

Afeni Shakur has a school every summer, where she does a performing arts camp for children and it just keeps growing and growing. This to will be the first summer where the performing arts camp will be at the facility.

The Meditation Peace Garden and the Visitor Center are located at 5616 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083.

Afeni established the Shakur Family Foundation in 1997 as a way to provide arts training to Atlanta area youth ages 12-18. The help the Center is giving to the revitalization of the area is much appreciated by the local government. It seems everyone is interested in this project and the completion of it.

In a brief description of Phase 1, The Visitor Center and Memorial Peace Garden; states -

Visitor Center

A small Gallery, gift shop, rehearsal space for our camp students, and the Foundation’s offices will be inside the Visitor Center. The general public will be able to visit and view various small exhibits (i.e. personal items of Tupac, fan art work, etc.) as well as buy Tupac and TASF merchandise.

Memorial Peace Garden

A beautifully landscaped 6 acre garden designed as a place of reflection in honor of those who are no longer with us. A statue of Tupac will stand erect in the center of the garden inside a gothic cross (cross used in Amaru and TASF’s logo) water fountain. Also, the garden will consist of a donor platform, wooden pavilions, and various fountains spread throughout.

On the beautifully-wooded 10-acre property, with an on-site lake, the Center will be built in three phases. This Grand Opening is just Phase One of it. There is planned to be an auditorium, a dance studio, a recording studio and an editing bay upon completion. Also a screening room is planned as part of the Museum and will feature film premieres, video history on Tupac and other exclusive happenings.

Support is needed to finish Afeni’s dream and to immortalize the man we have come to know, understand and love as Tupac Shakur.

Support Tupac’s legacy as they build the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts! The Center will honor the work of Tupac and his impact on the world. This Center will provide a place for entertainers, artists and educators around the world to unite and network with one another, in addition to training young adults who seek a career in entertainment. Visitors will also be able to better understand the calling of Tupac’s life through the Museum & Art Gallery.

A screening room is planned as part of the Museum and will feature film premieres, video history on Tupac and other exclusive happenings.

You can become part of this piece of hip-hop and rap history and immortalize your love and continued support for Tupac’s legacy by supporting the ‘One Brick at a Time Fundraiser’.

Supporting the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation by purchasing a brick engraved with your company logo or your own personal message will leave your own mark on this wonderful tribute to the fallen ‘prince’ Tupac Shakur. Your brick will be constructed into the Peace Garden (Phase 1) of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts. I have been assured by members at TASF that the bricks will be in for the Grand Opening in June.

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation would like to see the names of the people - engraved in stone - who support them and their future accomplishments as they maintain the legacy of Tupac Shakur. The end result will be an everlasting tribute from donors to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, Inc., and to the eternal legacy of Tupac Amaru Shakur.

Please visit the web site of TASF and buy a brick and let the many visitors know you helped to preserve the legacy of Tupac Shakur. Go there HERE.

Dina LaPolt, who’s law firm, LaPolt Law,P.C. represent Tupac Shakur's entire estate and was a  co-producer of "Tupac: Resurrection"; did an interview at PR.com recently where she spoke about the Arts Center. You can read that interview here: Dina LaPolt and Afeni Shakur Keep Tupac Shakur's Indelible Legacy Alive.

Support this fundraising effort and buy a brick and add your name to the many that support Tupac’s legacy. The thought of knowing that the millions of people who will visit this Center will see and know that you support Tupac and his legacy should be enough to get any one who has love for Tupac interested enough to help. So anyone who has ever enjoyed a Tupac track, a Tupac movie, a Tupac poem or was ever affected by Tupac in any way I urge you to help if you can. It is truly a worthy cause.

Visit the ‘Official Tupac Website’ HERE and help to carry on the legacy of the man Tupac Amaru Shakur, and help to full fill Afeni’s mission and that of TASF.

To make other donations or if you have questions you can contact Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, Inc. (TASF)
