Many notable hip hop and rap releases came out yesterday. Among them are albums from some of the best hip hop and rap artists and legends out of the West Coast; and they all are must have albums. Iconic Hip Hop figure Tupac Shakur (2Pac) dropped two albums. The 2 CD’s titled ‘BEST OF 2PAC PT. 1: THUG’ and ‘THE BEST OF 2PAC PT 2: LIFE’. 2 previously unreleased tracks and 2 new remixed tracks from the hip hop legend grace the 2 CD’s. The other tracks we are all familiar with but the albums are worth getting; not just for the new material but for the unique packaging. The covers and CD case is a must have for any Tupac fan. The albums are being distributed by Universal/Amaru. West Coast legends Westside Connection; consisting of Ice Cube, WC and Mack 10 dropped ‘The Best Of Westside Connection: The Gangsta, The Killa And The Dope Dealer, on Capitol/Priority. This album brings some great memories with it. The album features tracks with Butch Cassidy and Nate Dogg. Worth buying for the memories plus it is a good collection of their greatest gangsta rap tracks. Gangsta rap luminaries NWA is celebrating the 20 year anniversary of their album that changed hip hop forever: N.W.A: Straight Outta Compton (20th Anniversary Edition). The CD features 5 20th Anniversary Edition bonus tracks: F*ck Tha Police (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), Gangsta Gangsta (Snoop Dogg/C-Murder), Dopeman (Mack 10), If It Ain''t Ruff (WC) and Compton's N The House (live) (Dr. Dre/M.C. Ren), released by Capitol/Priority. Now that is history with a bonus. Definitely a got ta have for any hip hop, rap and gangsta rap fan. Then there is a 16-track collection of Eazy-E’s best collaborations and rare solo recordings titled ‘Featuring: Eazy-E’. The compilation includes four previously out of print tracks, which are exclusively available on this release, and collaborations with his N.W.A co-conspirators Ice Cube, himself also a hip hop legend, MC Ren and Dr. Dre, as well as with other hip hop and rap notables such as Mack 10, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and others, released on Capitol/Priority. This is a MUST HAVE. And there is The Best Of Mack 10: Foe Life from the west coast gangsta foe life Mack 10. This is a great collection of Mack 10’s work.
