Kicking off a new year, Billboard's chart-topping queen Erika Jayne has triumphantly returned to the #1 spot for the sixth consecutive time on Billboard's "Hot Dance/Club Play Songs" chart. This time around it's her party anthem titled, "Party People (Ignite the World)," that led her back to the top of the chart. The song was written and produced by Swedish hit makers Andreas Carisson and Niclas Kings.

The release of "Party People" was simultaneously followed by a seductive, dance-driven club video featuring a sexier-than-ever Erika Jayne. The music video was directed and choreographed by Mikey Minden, co-artistic director/choreographer for Pussycat Dolls. The single's crowd-pleasing remixes were created by Jody den Broeder, Bimbo Jones, Hector Fonseca, Whiiite and Cory Enemy.

Trailing behind Erika's hit single is Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away" and Lady Gaga's "Marry The Night." Previous Erika Jayne singles "One Hot Pleasure," "Rollercoaster," "Stars," "Give You Everything," and "Pretty Mess" also hit the #1 position on this chart. Her single "One Hot Pleasure's" peak at #1 topped tracks by Katy Perry, Cher and Enrique Iglesias (featuring Ludacris and DJ Frank E) solidifying her as a major player in the pop and dance worlds.

Rihanna Best Selling Digital Artist of All Time PDF Print E-mail
Written by Staff
Saturday, 07 January 2012 08:36

Sales figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan showed that RiRi has shifted a total of 47.5 million digital downloads during her career.

That put the Barbadian beauty ahead of Black Eyed Peas (42.4 million) and Eminem (42.2 million) in the top three.

Lady Gaga's 42.08 million downloads earned her fourth place, ahead of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Kanye West and Britney Spears.

The list of best-selling digital songs suggested that Rihanna owed her place at the top of the overall chart to her prolific output, as none of her tracks made the top ten.

Black Eyed Peas' I Got A Feeling is the most downloaded song of all time, with sales of 7.68 million.

Poker Face and Just Dance by Lady Gaga complete the top three, but both had more than a million fewer downloads than the chart-topper.

Adele's global smash Rolling In The Deep is seventh on the list, with 5.9 million downloads.

Nas Concert Promoter Kidnapped in Angola PDF Print E-mail

An American concert promoter claims he and his son were abducted at gunpoint in Angola ... all because hip hop rapper Nas failed to show up for a heavily promoted New Year's Eve concert.

A rep for AllGood Entertainment CEO Patrick Allocco tells TMZ ... Patrick and his son were snatched by hired goons working for a local "concert impresario" named Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel ... who anted up big bucks for the NYE show.

Allocco's people claim Nas and opening act Jemiah Jai were paid $315k to perform two shows ... but failed to board their flights in the U.S. in time to make it on stage in Angola.

According to Allocco's team ... Miguel was PISSED ... and didn't want Allocco to leave the country without resolving the whole money issue ... so he sent his people to take them into custody at gunpoint.

Allocco's people claim Patrick and his son were handed over to local authorities, where they were detained and interrogated for nearly seven hours.

The local U.S. Embassy finally stepped in and got them sprung.

A rep for the U.S. Embassy confirms ... Patrick and his son are now "in residence" at a local hotel while the two sides try to resolve the money situation.

Allocco's people gave up this statement from him ... "The hope is that Nas and Jemiah Jai will return all of the monies that were wired to them immediately so that our ransom may be paid and our safe return to the United States may be facilitated."
