Hip hop rap artist-turned actor LL Cool J, aka James Todd Smith; is set to host the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. LL Cool J will be the first official host of the annual music awards event in seven years.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," said LL Cool J in a statement. "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true."

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air February 12th on CBS.
