Ludacris

A charity appearance by rapper Ludacris at Alabama's Montgomery Mall, had to be cut short just as it was starting. Just as it began the crowd became uncontrollable.

Ludacris donated $300 in toys to a radio station charity drive and was signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans at one of the mall's newly-opened stores.

Even though scheduled for two hours, Luda was asked to leave by police after about 20 minutes. Security could not control the crowd and two small fights broke out. Well over 100 fans had been waiting for more than 30 minutes for the the hip hop rapper to arrive.

A Montgomery police officer said no arrests were made, but an unidentified man was seen being detained in the mall's public safety office.

Contacted police declined further comment.
