Thanks to all who entered. Winners are being notified by email.

This past week hip-hop and rap video director and friend of the late rap icon Tupac Shakur released his book entitled ‘Thru My Eyes’ Thoughts on Tupac Shakur in Pictures and Words (Atria / Simon & Schuster).

This is an amazing pictorial of some of the greatest time in Tupac’s career. It covers the last 8 months of the rap artist life and the close affiliation that Gobi had with Tupac, affords us the reader with some great pictures and some great insightful commentary from Gobi.

There are a number of previously unpublished photos of hip-hop culltures rap icon Tupac Shakur in different ‘shades’ as Gobi told us in an interview.

The forward to the book was written by Afeni Shakur Davis, the rap icon’s mother.

In that strong and moving forward Afeni says “This book is Gobi’s way of honoring my son and sharing his experiences. I thank you Gobi for being my son’s friend.”…

“Gobi has his own special experience with my son and in sharing his perception offers a personal view of Tupac that warrants exposure.”…

Thanks to Gobi and Atria Books and Simon & Schuster; we are very pleased to offer Gobi’s new book as a current give away on the site.

This is a book that every fan of the late rap icon Tupac Shakur should have.

Fans of the late rapper 2Pac or really any hip-hop fan, are familiar with the music and music videos of rap icon Tupac Shakur. Titles like ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted’, ‘How Do You Want It’, and the most famous gangsta rap ‘diss’ song ever ‘Hit Em Up’, were made into videos and are enjoyed today as much as when they first came out nearly 10 years ago.

Behind those hip-hop and rap videos and behind the rap artist, actor, poet, teacher and activist Tupac Shakur, you can find many people that Tupac touched and interacted with as business associates, friends and family.

Gobi is one of those people lucky enough to have called Tupac his business partner and friend. Gobi directed many of the Tupac videos we enjoy today.

His book is a moving emotional look into the man Tupac Shakur. Seeing all the different sides of Pac, from his famous smile to his serious stare, this book is truly a well coordinated project that brings the fans of Tupac into the world behind the legend.

Gobi will be working on the ‘Live to Tell’ project, the only film script ever written by the late rap star Tupac "2Pac" Shakur; that is slated to come to the big screen in 2006.

Gobi also has the front and rear covers of the recently released The Rose Vol. 2 album. Release on September 20th, 2005,  a number of hip-hop, rap and R&B's top artists took a brand new approach to using Tupac Shakur's poetry in song, paying tribute to the late rapper in his own words on "The Rose, Vol. 2 - Music Inspired by Tupac's Poetry."

So you can see that Gobi’s work is dedicated to the legacy of Tupac Shakur (2Pac). Part o f the proceeds from the book ‘Thru My Eyes’ Thoughts on Tupac Shakur in Pictures and Words, will go to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF), for the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, in Stone Mountain Georgia.

In our interview with Gobi he said talking about Afeni Shakur Davis “I will always in everything that I do, not only Tupac related but things that have nothing to do with Tupac, I will always give her a portion of what I’m doing for her cause.” That ‘cause’ is TASF, Afeni Shakur Davis’ way of helping her son Tupac to live on in his legacy. Gobi is dedicated to the legacy of Tupac and we should support him in all his endeavors, as they to help support the legacy of Tupac Shakur.

If you do not win a copy of this book or you can’t wait go HERE and order it. You can always give the copy you win to a friend for the holidays.
