In honor of Women's History Month, LIFE CAMP Inc, in association with Harlem Dowling West Side Center and Ravenel Records presents the Women on the Move Speaking Series. The engaging event takes place on Wednesday March 28, 2007, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at Harlem Dowling West Side Center, 2090 Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard and will bring women from various business and professional sectors together with youth groups throughout Harlem for enlightening, empowering conversation.

Guest speakers will include author, Nikki Turner; hip hop artist, Cheryl “Salt” James; TV personality, Jacque Reid; hip hop / rap artist, Nina B; radio personality, Dee Vasquez; along with social entrepreneurs, Erica Ford and April Silvers.

Harlem Dowling, which celebrates its 170th anniversary this year, is a leading multi-service child and family centered agency. The non-profit agency is dedicated to serving children and families in crisis and distress.  For nearly two centuries, Harlem Dowling has provided assistance to children, their families and the community by offering out of home foster care, adoption, therapeutic placement, supportive housing for youth aging out of foster care and other support services. 

 

Related service includes family preservation, HIV/AIDS services, family support services and after school programs for children and their families in Central Harlem, Washington Heights, Southeast Queens and Far Rockaway.
