Death Row Records and Eagle Rock Entertainment’s October 4 DVD release of Tupac Shakur: Live at the House of Blues lands at the top of the charts: #3 on Billboard’s Top DVD Sales Chart and the #1 top selling music DVD at Tower Records.

The soundtrack is also available in stores on CD, and the show is due on UMD for play on the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) on November 1.

Taped at the renowned House of Blues in Los Angeles, the historic piece of footage takes fans back to a time where West Coast hip hop ruled. Live at the House of Blues finds west coast rap icon Tupac (2Pac) at his controversial finest and Snoop as street as ever. They are joined on stage by label mates (at the time) Daz, Kurupt, and the seminal West Coast crooner Nate Dogg. Also performing that night were R&B bad boys, Jodeci, who were also at the height of their career.

Tupac: Live at the House of Blues was filmed on July 4, 1996, just two months prior to Shakur’s assassination in Las Vegas, NV on September 13, 1996.

Eagle Rock’s previous major hip-hop concert DVD Up In Smoke is now six times platinum in the U.S.
