Dedicated to presenting the best of today's indie designers and musicians, Koshi, the girl-promoting brand, has partnered with California Sound Control to release "L.A. Woman: Song Book One", a compilation CD featuring Koshi's picks for the ten most promising female singer-songwriters in Los Angeles.

A happy alternative to the played-out corporate music domineering today's airwaves, "L.A. Woman: Song Book One" is intended to be every music-loving girl's soundtrack to summer and an indication of what's next in the world of rock. With most of the artists already getting their own song placements in TV and movies, radio air time, and gigs opening for the likes of Jewel, Gwen Stefani, The Black Eyed Peas, and Poe, "L.A. Woman: Song Book One" is well on it's way to predicting the future.

Here are the artists and songs that made the Koshi cut:

1. Libbie Schrader - "War On Science"

(Comparable to Fiona Apple, Paula Cole, Natalie Merchant)

2. Shannon Hurley - "Garden Path"

(Comparable to Blondie, Leona Naess, Aimee Mann)
