Internationally Acclaimed Human Rights Activist and author of "Quitting America, a Black Man Leaves his Native Land," founder and former president of TransAfrica and foreign policy advocate will speak at Sojorner-Douglass College on Saturday, April 16, 2005.

While president of TransAfrica, he spearheaded the US campaign to end apartheid in South Africa. His leadership in support of the pro-democracy movement in Haiti - which included a 27 day hunger strike - also caused the United States Government to lead the 1994 multinational effort to return to power Haiti's first democratically elected - but violently overthrown - government.

This event will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2005. The symposium will be from 3:00pm - 7:00pm on the campus of Sojourner - Douglass College in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Robinson will discuss the continuing lack of Black Leadership in America and how this has devastated African Americans domestically and globally.

Symposium Theme: Black leadership at the crossroads: A Wake-up call

QUITTING AMERICA by Randall Robinson

"Randall Robinson is an authentic hero and a true patriot. He loves his country but is unafraid to rebuke or expose its sins. America is indebted to her black people, and Randall makes the case for why we must not and cannot accept a check marked ''insufficient funds.''"

(Tavis Smiley, author and former host BET Tonight)

"Randall Robinson is the greatest pro-Africa fighter of his generation in America. His powerful and poignant story of personal and political struggle is one of vision, courage, and sacrifice." (Cornel West, Harvard University professor and author of Race Matters)

Randall Robinson, former head of TransAfrica, was even more critical of Powell, calling him "the most powerful and damaging black to rise to influence in the world in my lifetime."

This event will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2005 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm.

Mr. Robinson will discuss the continuing lack of Black Leadership in America and how this has devastated African Americans domestically and globally. If you are in the area please look into this.
