Exploding out of Long Beach, CA alongside fellow legendary rap artists of the Dogg Pound Gangstas; Nate Dogg, Warren G., and his first cousin Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger helped forge the soundscape of G-Funk and aided in the creation of one of music’s most impressive dynasties—Suge Knights west coast iconic Death Row Records. Under the tutelage of hitmaker, hip-hop / rap producer and rapper Dr. Dre and the street sharpened business savvy of Death Row’s CEO Suge Knight; Daz’s groundbreaking production and energetic lyrical delivery first gained attention on two of hip-hop’s most classic records, Dr. Dre’s 1992 juggernaut The Chronic and Snoop’s 1994 debut, Doggystyle. By the time Daz—paired with former running mate Kurupt as the Dogg Pound—dropped the seminal offering Dogg Food, the rapper had already become a household name among hip-hop’s global audience and was the mighty label’s go to beat maker. Daz also played a big role, producing some of the tracks on Tupac’s All Eyez on Me album. This October, Daz will team up with Kurupt for THA DOGG POUND TOUR. After a four year absence, Kurupt is slated to release his highly anticipated fourth solo album, Against Tha Grain on Aug 23 on Death Row Records. The CD features collaborations with the late west coast rap icon Tupac Shakur, along with M.O.P and R&B singer Dave Hollister among others. To date, KURUPT has released three albums: 1998's Kuruption!, 1999's Streetz Is A Mutha, and 2001's Space Boogie: Smoke Oddyssey. In addition to his many other projects, look out for Daz Dillinger’s latest production effort, Sampling To The Beat Of The Drum, to be released 9-06-05 on Gangsta Advisory/Red Urban. We will let you know when the Tour Schedule is available for THA DOGG POUND TOUR. |
