Rapper Ludacris and his publicity machine have dispelled rumors that he has sold his record label Disturbing Tha Peace to Island Def Jam Music group for the sum of $11 million.

The New York Daily News alleged that Sony Music and Warner Music were in a bidding war with Luda’s parent label to purchase DTP, a roster that includes Ludacris himself, female rapper Shawnna, I-20, Lil'' Fate, Tity Boi and Dolla Boy

According to the New York Daily News, insiders claimed that the deal was done, but Def Jam publicist Jana Fleishman refuted the notion.
Fleishman said, "Luda has not sold DTP. He has entered into a joint venture with Island Def Jam Music Group."

Meanwhile, Luda said he views on a recent Disturbing Tha Peace defectee have changed dramatically.

“All respect is lost [for Chingy]," Ludacris told MTV.com. "He keeps saying it's cool. It's not cool. ... It's completely over. Financially he still is signed to Disturbing Tha Peace, and we''ll do what we have to do, but we don''t want anybody representing the crew who's gonna make false accusations [of shady business] like that. We have no respect for this individual, basically."

Hip-hop's Chingy said that DTP executive Chaka Zulu was acting as both manager and label chief, a conflict of interest for the artist. Zulu said that he opened the company books up to the New Orleans rapper, but he still left the label.

The two factions are attempting to resolve their differences financially, but Luda has stated their personal friendship is over.
